So talking about the leader of a company what we are really
talking about is the person that sets the stage for that company culture.
People are going to follow you and they are going to follow you into a deep
hole or they are going to follow you to the Promised Land; if you will. And of
the things we try to do at Centro, the company I work for, is to create an
environment where every person in the company knows that we are all in this
together. That a rising tide raises all boats and we do that through our
compensation, but we do it more through respect. Respect for the people who
work for us and respect for our customers. The fact of the matter is that I get
an opportunity to speak to a group like this, to pick up awards, have my
picture in the paper and the only reason I get to do that is because 102 other
people working every day.

Clint Cooper, the owner of Redeemers Group and the winner of Executive of the Year, said it was all possible because of faith. "I think the reason I've been able to be so successful is that I was just too dumb to know that I could fail," Cooper said. "It pays to be stupid sometimes. But, I also think my life is not a coincidence."
